- HBO's "Ladies" creating buzz in Chicago
- March 30, 2009
HBO’s “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” a fun and uplifting new series set in Botswana, is getting some buzz in Chicago. The series’ local premiere at The DuSable Museum of African American History had Stella and TeeSee gossiping weeks before the doors opened.
Valerie Denney Communications helped turn up the buzz by reaching out to mainstream, community, and African American press about the series and the premiere event. Costar Anika Noni Rose appeared in Redeye, Chicago Tribune and on ABC 7 to talk about her experiences working on the show. The event at DuSable was crowded with reporters and photographers from Chicago Defender, Chicago Crusader, N’Digo, Afrique, and Hyde Park Herald.
